Georgie Smith – Acupuncturist
My name is Georgie Smith and I am the owner of The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic. I am a nurse, midwife and acupuncturist with extensive experience in medical fields of fertility and pregnancy. This has provided me with a unique understanding of the journey toward parenthood, from the tiny beginnings, throughout the ups anddowns of pregnancy, and ultimately towards the miracle of birth. You can have the upmost trust in my ability to discuss, address and treat your needs, whatever the stage of your journey. I initially trained and worked as a nurse, gaining varied and diverse understanding and practical experience of the medical world. I then extended and refined my skills by studying midwifery in 2002 and have now been a practicing midwife in busy hospitals for over a decade. Because of my love and passion for this area I undertook a four year Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Acupuncture at the Endeavour College of Natural Medicine. Since becoming an acupuncturist in 2010, I have focused in fertility and pregnancy treatment. I have also ventured into the world of IVF and possess an excellent understanding of these treatments. I have ensured that my knowledge and skills remain at the cutting edge of research and practice by continuing to study and have completed my Masters in Reproductive Medicine in 2013.
I had my own baby in early March 2016 and have returned to work part-time so I can enjoy my daughter whilst also providing acupuncture for those wanting to have their own babies. I am currently available for appointments on Mondays (7am-1pm), Wednesdays (1-7pm), Thursdays (11am-7pm) and Saturdays (8am-12pm).

Megan Davern – Acupuncturist
Hi, my name is Megan Davern. I am a New Graduate Acupuncturist, completing my Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) in early 2017. During my degree, I provided over 540 hours of acupuncture treatments with clients. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for leading a healthy lifestyle – chemical-free for my body, my family and my home.
My early working life was consumed with providing for my young son, so I’ve worked in photo laboratories and various administrative roles. Whilst living in Tasmania, and working as a receptionist, I stumbled across a free Chinese Language course and from there my interest in Chinese Philosophy and Chinese Medicine peaked. I then travelled to China and practiced with Chinese Medicine Doctors at the hospital of Nanning. The union of my lifelong belief in natural health was reflected beautifully in Tradtional Chinese Medicine.
When I returned to Australia I enrolled in a Bachelor of Heatlh Science (Acupuncture). I joined The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic as an Acupuncture Student in 2015, working on the reception desk and shadowing Georgie during many of her treatments. During this time, my interest and understanding of fertility, pregnancy and Traditional Chinese Medicine has steadily expanded.
I am excited to be a Practitioner at The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic, finally able to support you on your journey to parenthood.
I am available for appointments on Monday (12noon-7pm); Tuesdays (7am-4pm), Wednesday (7am-1pm) and Fridays (11am-6pm).
