Simple Overnight Oats and Chia Porridge Recipe
At the Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic, we recommend eating a high protein breakfast for many reasons. Apart from protein keeping you fuller for longer, a high protein diet regulates blood sugar levels throughout the day for fertility. Megan uses pomegranates as a topping, which also improves fertility by increasing blood flow to the uterus.
This simple overnight oats and chia porridge recipe is easy to make and very delicious. This recipe is for one serve, but you could make a few at once to last you throughout your busy week.
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/3 cup milk (your choice – Megan has used coconut)
- Honey to taste
- Pomegranate seeds
- Glass jar (read our blog on why we recommend glass over plastic)
1. Mix the oats, chia seeds, milk and honey in a glass jar
2. Refrigerate overnight
3. In the morning, add pomegranate seeds and dates (if you want, you can substitute with your favourite toppings, e.g. nuts, berries, etc.)
