At The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic in Brisbane, I firmly believe that healthy people make healthy babies. It’s thought that 1 in 6 Australian couples will experience difficulties becoming pregnant so you are far from alone. Some of you will have a diagnosis for why you are having trouble, whilst for others the answers you’re searching for may not be found. Most people find the process very stressful and can put huge strain on their relationships. I can discuss nutrition, vitamin supplements, exercise and relaxation techniques that can help you during this time.
Pregnancy
At The Fertility and Pregnancy Acupuncture Clinic in Brisbane I see many women during all stages of their pregnancies. I was a midwife for over a decade and worked extensively in the 2 large maternity hospitals here in Brisbane. As such, I am very familiar with most aspects of a pregnancy, what goes right and also what can wrong. If you are looking for a practitioner to support you through your pregnancy whether for a physical or emotional requirement I would love to help you.

Menopause & Cancer Support
Menopause
80% of women will experience menopausal symptoms during there transition into menopause. These are initially due to fluctuations and then a decrease in oestrogen levels in our bodies. Symptoms are varied amongst women and include hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia or restless sleep, joint aches and pains, fatigue, mood changes, poor memory, itchy skin, vaginal dryness, decreased libido, and painful sexual intercourse. Chinese medicine views menopause as a natural life event and may assist with some of the symptoms experienced. It can be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as menopausal replacement therapy (MHT) (previously known as hormone replacement therapy or HRT).
Cancer support
As someone who has undergone cancer treatment myself I have a good understanding of the challenges faced when you hear you diagnosis and have to undergo treatment. Whilst my own experience was with breast cancer, most cancer treatments will include the same treatments and the same side effects. Most of us will have some form of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and hormone therapy. Side effects of these might include pain, nausea, vomiting, peripheral neuropathy, mouth ulcers and fatigue. Acupuncture may be able to assist you with managing some of these side effects whilst you undergo or after you have finished your cancer treatment.
